It is an honor and privilege to serve at Bethel as the Senior Pastor. The Lord has blessed me with 30 years of ministry. Under conservative Christian parents, I grew up with very strict Christian boarding school discipline. During my childhood, mistakes were not tolerated and expectations were high, so it drove me to teen rebellion, but Jesus saved me in 1979. When the Lord forgives sins, He does remove our sins as far as the East is from the West. I was not prepared to enter full-time ministry but my Dad's death in 1981 changed everything. After serving in the Indian regiment of British forces during WWII, my Dad became a missionary teacher with Danish missionaries in a remote place of South India. Both my parent's dedication as they gave up other prospects in life to go as missionary teachers touched me. My Dad also impacted my life by his simplicity. Thus a vision for reaching the lost was born. With several years of national and international experiences and with 8 years of college and seminary education, it is my personal goal to lead Bethel in ways that would glorify the Lord.
Brian Hogan is no stranger to Youth Ministry, having spent 8 years working with youth of all ages. He has worked part time at several different churches inside and outside of Maryland working in Youth Ministry. He also has worked with youth with disabilities in an educational setting and worked with adults with disabilities, helping them find employment in the community.
Brian was first called to Bethel as an interm Director in April of 2010. From the beginning of his interm, Brian knew that this was where he belonged. The church felt the same way. He was called to Bethel as their Minister of Youth and Children on September 20th of 2010, less than six months later. Brian has a passion and heart for youth and has the ability to relate to them on their level.
Brian has been married for 6 years to his wife Rachel and has two sons, Caleb (5 years old) and Toby (4 years old).
Brian is also Bethel's website designer and all around "Tech" guy.
I am a native of New Mexico, studied music at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, ministered as Worship Pastor and Music Evangelist in Texas and New Mexico. In 2006, joined the Grammy-nominated Christian recording group EC & R and began traveling throughout North America singing and ministering to thousands through music, recorded six projects with EC & R and one solo project released by CMG, Nashville. I have been blessed with my beautiful wife Jill and our family includes two cats, Beau and Davis. I spent nearly twenty years in fulltime ministry singing for my Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. I left the road in June 2010 to join the staff of Bethel, a ministry that I cherish every day and the opportunity to tell many people about the glorious revolution of grace that snatched me out of the muck and mire of who I was and saved me completely and eternally. I'm just a kid from the Southwest where oil and tumbleweeds are the number one exports, done more living by the age of thirty than I ever expected to live in my entire life, even since I was given an awesome second chance by my heavenly Father, music and worship is the medium God has gifted me with for sharing the Gospel message and I hope you will join us in one of our worship experiences to see and hear for yourself the 'great things He hath done!'
